Steam Plant Lofts is an authentic loft conversion on a quiet and secluded side street in Toronto’s growing St. Jamestown. As the name suggests, the building was once a power plant with a 61 metre-high smokestack, built in 1953 to supply power for the Wellesley and Princess Margaret Hospitals. In 2008, the property was transformed into a modern residence with 31 Toronto lofts across just five-storeys. The smokestack was preserved during construction, and its curved structure gives the building a unique character with a variety of round bedrooms and dens, as well as original exposed brick, high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, refurbished sliding barn doors, hardwood floors, upgraded stainless steel appliances and rooftop terraces. To top it all off, Steam Plant Lofts also offers a roof-top patio with BBQs, the perfect place to enjoy the summer with family and friends.
